The performance management over teachers is a vital aspect of many focuses for higher vocational school to improve educational quality, while the research in this area in China is still in vacancy, and lack of successful practical cases. This, to a certain degree, affects the higher vocational school to improve educational quality by applying performance management to teachers. This thesis analyzes the substantial definition and design procedure of performance management in a systematized way, and finally it combines with the fact to make profound research on the performance management over teachers of higher vocational school.With the increasingly deepened reform of national educational system, the higher vocational school gets quick growth and its independence is also enhanced, and new trends on the management over teachers appear. The new trends incarnate the following two aspects: the first is humanized management that is based on the specialty development of teachers, and the second is market-based objective orientation management of teachers.Performance management is a vital component of teacher management, therefore we must search the means and measures for management over teachers' performance that are scientific and conform to the actual situation of school at certain period. By considering and researching the management over teachers' performance in Chongqing Zhengda Software Polytechnic College, we propose the means and measures for improvement in the following three aspects: (1) establish performance management system that is continuously improving instead of taking rewards and punishment as final objective, and all focus on improvement at every stage, including the preparation, implementation, responding, communication and adjustment of teacher performance plan; (2) in the implementation of performance management, we should not only take the specialty development of teachers into full consideration and respect the opinions of teachers, but also conform to the market objective oriented management system, especially the performance appraisal should include not only appraisal indexes of teaching processes, but also result-oriented appraisal indexes such as graduate employment, etc.; (3) performance management of higher vocational school shall be featured with vocational technical education, appraisal items that are designed to improve practical capability of teachers should be reflected no matter in the specialty...
