Research On Social Driving Dynamics Of Urbanization In County Areas

Urbanization is an important approach to optimize urban-rural structure and realize sustainable development of urban-rural economy. In China, most people are peasants, so rural urbanization is the emphasis of urbanization. Rural urbanization is beneficial to solving "the issues of peasants, agriculture and countryside" and urban-rural integration. The county economy in China belongs to rural economy, and most "issues of peasants, agriculture and countryside" focus on county areas. This paper takes Yixing for an example, studies social drives influenced urbanization in county areas, discusses their dynamics and puts forward some advices to the problems of urbanization in Yixing.Firstly, this paper analyses some classic theories of urbanization dynamics, including macro-view and micro-view. It points out that these theories provide many revelations to the transfer of rural labors and rural urbanization in china, but they also have limits in the context of Chinese society and economy.Secondly, this paper reviews the process of urbanization in Yixing. Then it analyses the social drives in the process of urbanization in county areas from the aspects of social individual, social colony, community and social relation. In the end, the social drives accelerated and baffled urbanization are pointed out.Thirdly, the paper summarizes four models of population urbanization in Yixing: transferring to towns, county seat, areas out of county and immigrating in. Then based on the research of social drives and models, this paper discusses the mechanism of social drives on people industrial transfer, people space transfer (swing space transfer and permanent space transfer) and the change of space structure in rural areas.Lastly, the paper points out many problems of urbanization in Yixing. For example, the space transfer of rural labors lags behind and the negative influences of human migration. It puts forward the strategy of urbanization in Yixing and some suggestions in improving peasants' quality and institutional innovation to accelerate urbanization in Yixing.
