| Teaching is no mechanical work but a creative activity branded with the very teacher's style or personality. On the basis of the research work on curriculum and the perspective of the curriculum working mechanism, this thesis probes into the ingredients of college teacher's vocational selfhood and discourse upon its significance on students'academic development.In studying the influence of college teachers'vocational selfhood on students'academic development, the following propositions are put forward: (1) The clarification of the ingredients of vocational selfhood must be the premise of all the other work。(2) The study should be combined with the study on the peculiarities of the teaching profession, like their social role as public intellectuals and the significance of their model morality, etc; (3) The study should take the teaching process as its work field, and every proposition and dissertation will be meaningless once divorced from teaching process. Teaching process is the most popular place for teachers'vocational selfhood to work on students'academic development. Otherwise the discussion here will be partial, incidental and provisional and will damage the quality of this study.Through the study this thesis arrived at this conclusion that college teachers'vocational selfhood composed of teaching ability and model morality is in fact the richest and most concrete course from which students'academic development (including knowledge acquirement and ability development) benefit much. |
