Nowadays, feature has been one of the most significant criteria of school-running evaluation. School-running feature is one of the most important contents of evaluation in colleges and universities in our new nationwide round of education reform. With the specific education function and certain social influence, school-running feature has been high on the agenda for colleges and universities to upgrade themselves in this new era.On basis of some of the primary principles of school-running feature, this paper, with reference to theory and the reform as well as with a horizontal and vertical comparison, has conducted an investigation to the school-running feature in foreign colleges and universities and its enlightenments to our country. The emphasis has been put on the form school-running feature by creating enterprise in colleges and universities, such as: the succeeding and development of the college culture; the creation and building of the college talents cultivation; the performance of the principal and its strengthening; the building and development of the major; the introduction and cultivation of the excellent resources; the extending and spreading of the social serving function. Meanwhile, a healthy improvement mechanism should be built to function as leadership and support, that is to strengthen the formation of school-running features in colleges and universities by autonomous rights of running school as well as cooperation of the local government, and colleges and universities.
