The education has the power either for developing the creative spirit or inhibiting it. Lots of facts prove that our basic education is killing students' creativity in different degrees. As math education plays an important role in the basic education, our teachers and text-books are still trying to tell our students that all the others are*wrong except one thing. At the same time, there is a whole set of examination system to force the students to accept it and believe it. So the students only have the most single knowledge and the most single idea. We teach the knowledge of math ,but we often force them to remember many rules and patterns at the same time. They study math as a law which is slitf, absolute and closed. They always obey a whole set of rules so that millions of standard brains formed. Meanwhile, uncountable talents who originally have abundant and varied potentials degenerate into the mediocrities who have no their own ideas and dare not overstep the limit. People have their imagination as soon as they were born and every student has inexhaustible creative potential. Teachers' duty is to keep, tap, stimulate, develop, and lead it to be the motive force of creativity. Although math is full of vigor, it has been seeking for the understanding of different patterns which present both in the material world around us and in our minds . Ourmath education should combine the math studying and the math discovery. We should offer more chances for solving problems by students themselves. And try our best to give them a free atmosphere in which they can breathe freely. It good for developing children's creative spirit and practice ability to tap their creativity potential in math education according to its own character, From this way, Students can improve their whole quality. Fifty years ago, Tao xingzhi made a loud appeal, " Come back, the god of creativity!" Today, we have to repeat it.
