Analysis And Research Of Application Of The Chart System For Geography Teaching Material Of Grade 10

Maps act as the second language for geography, so geography means nothing if it were not for the maps. The chart system leading by maps plays an important role in the present geography teaching material for Grade 10(people's education publication, 2003) It supplements and extends the contents of the teaching material. Also, it help to stimulate the student's interest in learning geography, improve methods and efficiency of study, and as a result, the quality of teaching can be improved. The object of study of this essay is the chart systems in geography teaching materials for Grade 10.Using comparison and statistics.firstly, the chart systems are divided into 6 categories(maps, sketch maps, statistics, forms, scenery maps and cartoon),the structure of the diagrams is analysed respectively, expounding their functions and features.Secondly, substantial research on the usage of the diagram systems in the geography teaching material for Grade 10 is also carried, analysing their features in actrual geography teaching and all these had been put into practice. All the experiment identify that the student's interest of learning, basic ability of geography and ability of geographic thinking can be improved greatly by using diagram systems in geography teaching, eventually, that'll lead to the enhanced teaching quality.
