The Current Situation Of The Parenthood Of Senior Students And Its Adjustment

In recent years, parenthood is becoming strained. As a result, some senior students have left home to roam the streets or committed suicide. The period when the teenagers receive education at high school is a special one. How about the current situation of parenthood? what are the problems? what role can the school education play in establishing good parenthood? These questions must draw attention of educators.The writer of this thesis has made a survey about 2400 students who are studying at high school from senior one to senior three in Wuwei No. 1 Middle School in different ways such as interviewing, observing at the spot or asking the students to write articles on the subject of the parenthood. The result shows that among the senior students the parenthood is in a good state but there are still some problems that must not be ignored. The problems exist as follows: The parents demand too high hopes of their children; The children have too much pressure in mind and soul;the parents and children don't understand each other;the parents can't adapt their thinking to the change of their children who have reached the age of puberty and they interfere with their children a lot. There are some factors that affect the parenthood. Firstly, the factor lies in the family, which includes the parents ' educational idea , attitude as well as their educational methods. Secondly, the factor lies in the school which includes the ways the students are evaluated and whether the school offers the guidance of establishing good parenthood. Thirdly, the factor lies in society, which includes the change in the family structure, the competition in abtaining employment and the traditional culture.Based on the above rational knowledge, the school should be responsible for the strategy of establishing good parenthood. With the help of the parent-child meeting, the parent committee and the class meeting, the school should play an important role in establishing good parenthood. Parents, students, schools and society should work hard together to make the school education promote the family education and in return to make the family education promote the school education. The strategy for the parents should be that they must foster the correct educational idea, choose the proper educational method. They should further communication and understanding with their children.Proceeding from the children's actual conditions, the parents should show respect to their children's personalities and the objective law in growth so as to promote the healthy growth of the younger generation. The strategy for the students is that they should talk with their parents about their thoughts of their own accord, understand and respect their parents and be polite to their parents or elder members of the family. The strategy for the school is that they should pay more attention to the study of the relations between parents and their children. The guidance about how to establish good parenthood should run through the whole process of the growth of teenagers. The unfavourable factors that affect the parenthood must be eliminated. The strategy for society is that the traditional culture should be kept up and more chances of employment should be offered. The whole society ought to create the good atmosphere for good parenthood. Every effort should be made to remove the unfavourable factors that affect the parenthood.In a word, we should try hard together in different circles to establish the good parenthood.
