Study On Of The Nursing Institutions And The Elders' Demands In Changsha City

Through investigating the nursing institutions and the elders' demands in Changsha City, the grounding information of gender distribution, age, educatin background and economic condition of the elders living there, as well as their physical demands and those in safety, sensation and so forth, this paper probes into the problems and difficulties existing in the nursing institutions, so as to provide some scientific bases and reference for the improvement of the nursing institutions. 155 elders living in the nursing institutions in Changsha City were investigated by questionnaire, which included some basic information, daily living conditions and the satisfaction degree of living demands of the elders.Meanwhile, the current conditions and problems were exposed by interviewing some of the administrators in the nursing institutions.It is indicated that the elders presently living there are heterogenous compared with those in the past. The satisfaction degree is low both in physiology and psychology. And many problems like the simplicity and poor quality in nursing are existing.The result of the study shows that various kinds of nursing institutions ought to be built so as to diversify the investment, improve the quality of the staff as well as to regulise and specialize the nursing.Three parts are included in the paper:In the first part, a foundation is laid by intensively expounding the background and significance, the domestic and foreign sitution as well as the specific design and methodology of the study on the topicIn the second part, firstly, an analysis about the basic information such as gender, age, education and economic conditions is presented.Then, the factors that affect the demands of the elders are considered by analysing the current situation. Study showes that elders of different education background and economic situation have different tendency in demands while pursuing a better life. Therefore, an object and rounded understanding and analysis are suggested to considered as to the factors affecting the demands of the elders living in the nursing institutions.Finally, the problems in the nursing, managing and developing of the nursing institutions are discussed as to put forward some suggestions and measures, which start from the demands of the elders living there.In the last part, a conclusion and some further thoughts about the study are presented.
