This paper discusses the aesthetic education in geography teaching, mainly based on literature method and summarization.To actualize aesthetic education in geography teaching could make students gain broader knowledge, develop their intelligence and enhance their ability. Meanwhile, it can edify their sentiments and improve their accomplishments. This is the essential approach to upgrade students' comprehensive qualities in full scale. Therefore, to study aesthetic education in middle school geography teaching and make the education purpose clear are quite meaningful work with theoretic value, and it is also a definite requirement from new geography course. The paper divides into five chapters:The first chapter introduces the basis of aesthetic education in geography teaching. It begins with the definition of "aesthetic education" and "aesthetic education in geography teaching" , and follows with the adherence to policy of aesthetic education with its meaning. Lastly it discusses the weakness of current aesthetic education in geography teaching, which including both from teachers and students.The second chapter is the target and content of aesthetic education in geography teaching. Including aesthetic feelings of physical geography, humanism geography, art geography, harmonious geography and geography science.The third chapter is the actualization of aesthetic education in geography teaching, together with its principle and strategy.The fourth chapter is the requirement for geography teachers. It expounds that geography teachers should have the good inner quality and also should pay attention the appearance and language.The fifth chapter is the problems and suggestions. It discusses the current problems in research topic and advices for aesthetic education in geography teaching.The last part is the ending. It summarizes the content of the paper and some problems which need be researched further.
