With the reform of the new curriculum in the mainland, there are many expectations of Chinese teachers' roles. How to understand and reach these new expectations? How to change the old teaching styles and habits, and how to develop ourselves in our teaching careers and cultivate our own teaching styles? How Chinese teachers face these difficulties and pressures are related to the success of the curriculum reform.This article analyses the expectations of Chinese teachers' roles in the new curriculum reform of the Middle school. The writer explores the expectations of Chinese teachers' roles in different parts of the new Chinese curriculum, such as the expectations in Chinese Characters, reading, writing, comprehensive activities, suggestions and comments. The writer describes the specialties of Chinese teachers' roles. Moreover, this article looks at the difficulties for Chinese teachers to change and meet the new roles. The writer analyses these difficulties based on the observation of Chinese teachers in different schools, and tries to describe the expectations of Chinese teachers 'roles. In this article, the writer gives suggestions for Chinese teachers' development and transition that would make this transition in their teaching career easier and smoother.
