In the field of physical education, teachers have played the passive role in curriculum practice, and many teachers look on textbook as "Bible". The curriculum change is challenging the traditional role of teachers. It is hoped that teachers not only act as transmitter of curriculum, but also can employ their creativity in the process of curriculum implementation. In fact, teachers 'operation of curriculum is an objective phenomena. Here curriculum refers to formal curriculum. Teachers' reconstruction of curriculum means teachers modified curriculum in order to meet the students' needs. The research tries to examine the problem from the practice. It focuses on why teachers reconstruct curriculum, how teachers change the existing curriculum into operational curriculum, and what factors restrain teachers' curriculum practice. The research applies the qualitative research, trying to present subjective feeling and what the being-researchers think by talking with them, observe them, and understand them from different perspectives. Qualitative research pays attention to interpretive understanding of the research results. The researcher tries to enter the life of being-researchers, understand the meaning of their life and behavior.I choose a school including primary school and middle school as the research field. There are twelve teachers collaborating with me, including Chinese, biology, mathematics teachers, etc. These teachers are different in age and professional job title, which riches my research. I collect material through talking with teachers and students, class observation and material object collecting. The dissertation consists of five parts. Part One introduces the cause of the research, the research method and process of research. Part Two talks about why teachers reconstruct curriculum and the possibility of reconstruction. Part Three examines how teachers reconstruct curriculum. Part Four nalyzes the restraining factors. Part Five is the conclusion.
