There are some problems with the traditional evaluation of student's geography aptitudes including incorrect evaluating methodologies, weak recognition of evaluations, and unstandard evaluating procedures, which results in an evaluation that can not accelerate the students' improvement. According to the requirements of course restructuring, in order to fully develop evaluating function and improve students' development, the course evaluation research should be enhanced. The aim of this field study is to set up a scientifically proper student geography aptitude evaluation which can improve students' development. This article, from a theoretical perspective, proposes the construction of an open-ended comprehensive students' evaluating system with a goal and plan of system construction. A two-dimensional evaluating system is set up based on the evaluating goal and content, dimension one, and the evaluating process and method, dimension two, in order to help teachers choose a concrete evaluation accordingly. This article serves as an introduction to the process of two-dimensional content and defends its merits. Through case analyses, the two evaluating methods of open-ended test and open-ended informal quiz are tested. Then, the actual effect of carrying out students' geography studies open-ended comprehensive evaluating system is measured. The article offers the proof that the system is scientific and proper. Also the carrying out of students' geography studies evaluating system does not only depend on evaluating system design. At the end of the article, it also suggests the detailed measures to guarantee the carrying out of the evaluating system amidst various factors such as teachers, schools and educating administrative management departments, which affect students' geography evaluation as well.
