Counselors'job self-efficacy, the application of self-efficacy in practice field of counselors, refers to counselors' consciousness and belief in their own ability to realize the fixed objective of cultivating people by virtue of ideological and political education. The key measure and essential point of enhancing and improving college political and ideological education of the new time greatly lies in making every effort to develop a counseling team of a higher standard. Taking job self-efficacy of counselors as the starting point, the study mainly discusses such issues as how to enhance counselors' job self-efficacy, promote the construction of counseling team, and improve their work performance in the new age etc.The research consists of five parts. Based on the literature analysis approach, the first part reviews the relative theories and former empirical studies of self-efficacy, and further introduces theoretical assumptions on the study of counselors' job self-efficacy. By adopting the research method of questionnaire, part two examines the present conditions of counselors'job self-efficacy and its differences and development features in terms of sociological variables like sex etc by virtue of self-made Questionnaire on Counselors 'Job Self-efficacy. The third part makes full use of such statistical methods as regression analysis and structural equation model etc. to discuss the influential factors and operating mechanism of counselors' job self-efficacy. Depending on the data obtained from various research methods such as profound interviews and open-ended questionnaires and the like, part four analyses and discusses the results of quantitative research on counselors' job self-efficacy. According to the previous research results, suggestions on how to enhance counselors' job self-efficacy, promote staff construction of counselors and improve their work performance in the new age and so forth are put forward in the fifth part from three perspectives of government, school and individual respectively.Based on quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis, the research reveals that counselors' job self-efficacy is influenced, to a greater or lesser degree, by sociological factors including sex, types of schools, length of service, position/category, and former work experiences in Youth League and Student Union etc. General self-efficacy and sense of work support, especially student support, colleague support and supervisor support, turn out to be the positive predictive factors for the development of counselors' job self-efficacy, whereas role stress, especially the role ambiguity, and emotional exhaustion are the two negative predictive factors for its development.
