College Counselors are the organizers, practitioners and instructors of the ideological and political education and the daily management for higher education students, who are the essential and vital force to assure the sustained, healthy and rapid development of higher education. Self-efficacy of College Counselors is the theme of this paper, on the basis of summarizing the theory of Self-efficacy of College Counselors, to discuss the improving methods of Self-efficacy of College Counselors.Self-efficacy of College Counselors is the practical application of Self-efficacy theory in the field of the professional career of College Counselors, which has important practical significance and practical values:Self-efficacy helps realize the work achievements and efficiencies of College Counselors; high Self-efficacy results in better self-realization; College Counselors with high Self-efficacy can bring students positive influence.Based on the general Self-efficacy scale (GSES scale), this paper design the Self-efficacy questionnaires for College Counselors, to analyse the the basic conditions of the Self-efficacy of College Counselors. The results shows the average score of Self-efficacy of College Counselors is 3.0011, at the medium to high level, and there are comparatively large improving space. Therefore, this paper further puts forward that the outside environment factors and the inside personal factors, which limit the Self-efficacy of College Counselors. The outside environment factors include:the vague of professional roles, work pressure continue to increase; the obscurity orientation of jobs, career lack plans; the obstacles of Management mechanism, work quality reduced; the static of performance evaluation, incentive mechanism is not smooth. The inside personal factors include:the conflicts between the value identification and autognosis; the rapid increase of mental and psychological burdens; the unqualified of knowledge structure and capability of counselors'jobs etc.On the basis of research, this paper mainly dicusses the specific methods to excitate and improve the Self-efficacy of College Counselors. This paper indicates that on the basis of the basic conditions of the Self-efficacy of College Counselors at present, there are 3 levels, from the suppotive systems of society, the safeguard mechanism of university and the individual development route for conselors to motivate and improve the Self-efficacy. Include:strengthen the society propoganda of the profession of College Counselors, probe on the socialization of the profession of College Counselors, improve the occupational well-being and belonging; sound scientific mangement mechanism, improve evaluation of the professional skill of professional titles and positions, realize the development of the professionalization, facilitate the expert-oriented development of College Counselors; for individuals, College Counselors should be good at learning, strengthening self-cultivation, self-regulating, continuously improve capability for job and the standard of mental health.
