A Study On The Characteristic Of Development Of Higher Technological And Vocational Education In Taiwan

The higher vocational education is not only an important component of the higher education, but also the highest level of the vocational education. It helps develop economy, better the society and make more people obtain jobs. With the development of the productivity and the specialization of social occupation, it emphasizes the importance of the higher vocational education. Now, to consummate the higher vocational education becomes an indispensable part of the strategy which focus on developing our country by education. Nevertheless, with the shortcoming of higher vocational education's short history and its weak foundation, the understanding towards higher vocational education is not enough, and there are lots of problems that should be solved.The higher technological and vocational education in Taiwan is a multilateral, cohesive and completed higher vocational education system. It just has a history of decades, while its contribution to the Taiwan economic development is great. Its educational system's promotion and evaluation are developed according to what kind of talent is required by the society and what is needed by the society and its people. It has made a great contribution to the Taiwan's "economic miracle". By setting an example for the whole world for educational system and its development process, it also gains the attention and approval in the higher vocational education world.The thesis below sets the Taiwan higher technological and vocational education as its target. According to its background and development history, it tries to find out its origin, the cause and power for its development; to discuss its relationship with social economy and technology; to dig out its rule.
