On Characteristics Of Higher Technological Education Development In Guangxi

Since the Ministry of Education formally approved of Guangxi to form two new higher technological Colleges in 1998, higher technological education in Guangxi formally entered a new period of development. After nearly a decade of development, technological education in Guangxi has cultivated a large number of highly skilled and practical talents for Guangxi's economic and social development, and found the development model of higher technological Education which suits the area, forming its own characteristics.The characteristics of higher technological education in Guangxi is speciality which is shown by higher technological education in Guangxi which adapts to economic and social development. Development of higher technological education in Guangxi has shifted from focusing on the scale of development to pursuing quality , which is gradually changing development of the extension to the development of content, fully integrating Guangxi economic and cultural reality. In this process, higher technological education in Guangxi initially formed its own characteristics, the general function has begun to show, and personnel trained can meet regional economic and social development in Guangxi. Higher technological education in Guangxi became a typical instance of China's regional development of higher technological education. But higher Technological education in Guangxi is facing a new situation, the development of Gulf Economic Zone in Guangxi, China - ASEAN Economic Zone, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Economic Zone and other domestic and international economic zone cooperation proposed new requirements for the development of higher technological education in Guangxi . In order to adapt to this new situation, we should sum up the experience of higher Technological education in Guangxi, refining characteristics in this phase, and on this basis of further research, make higher Technological education in Guangxi continue to meet the development in Guangxi. Facing the new situation, this paper makes recommendations for future development on the basis of summarizing the characteristics of higher Technological education development in Guangxi.Currently, from the overall situation in research results, the domestic research on characteristics of higher technological education is essentially a research on the characteristic of the higher technological college and professional characteristics and so on, however, the study which is combined with a reality of the provincial economic and social development to illustrate the characteristics of higher technological education is very little. This study refered to a large amount of documentation on the theoretical support of higher technological education and regional economy , with the help of the Department of Education and higher technological colleges, such as Nanning Technological College, Liuzhou Technological College, Kindergarten Normal College , and interviewed with some of the leading and managing staff, formed some understanding of the characteristics of higher technological education in Guangxi: Government-ledness, preliminarily forming the complete system, adapting to openness of regional economic circumstances, highlighting such a collective characteristics of the national culture. As a consequent, this study discusses higher technological education in Guangxi on the basis of the reality of economic and social development in Guangxi, and systematically studies the characteristics of higher technological education in Guangxi through the fact and data, which not only has important practical significance, but of important value in theoretical reference.The paper has the following 4 parts:The first part is introduction. This section describes the origin of study on characteristics of higher vocational education in Guangxi, status of the related research, definition of related concepts in the study, research ideas and methods. It focuses on conceptual content, such as the body of higher vocational education, characteristics of higher vocational education and so on, and determines the basic ideas and methods in this study.The second section discusses the theoretical basis of the research on characteristics of higher vocational education. Promotion of higher vocational education is always the most important function for development in regional economy, only in the full play of their function, can form complete system, and highlight its'characteristics. This paper takes the economic functions of higher vocational education as the theoretical basis of characteristic in higher vocational education in Guangxi.The third part is the representation of features in higher vocational education in Guangxi. Higher vocational education adapts to the economic and social development in Guangxi, which involvs that the Government attempts to lead higher vocational education by means of policy and inputs and higher vocational education adapts to the economic development, etc; On this basis, the higher professional education in Guangxi formed a complete system, which is mainly represented in the scale of development, regional distribution, educational level, school subject etc; and then, in the process of export-oriented economic development under the regional cooperation , higher professional education in Guangxi has formed the opening school structure; In the process of development , higher vocational education in Guangxi initially shows national characteristics which is embodied in the development of higher vocational colleges in minority areas and cultivation of the tourist talents which highlights the ethnic customs.The fourth part mainly proposes some theoretical suggestions according to some questions in the characteristics of higher vocational education in Guangxi, specifically, transforming the government function, strengthening the autonomy of higher vocational colleges; further completing the vocational school system in Guangxi; Continueing in-depth cooperation in the region and beyond school, deepening the open; actively strengthening national characteristics in higher vocational education, etc .
