The Education of MEng (Master of Engineering) in China has begun from the pilot plan of engineering graduates in the year 1984. After more than twenty years, it now has a very good basis and has become the professional degree with the most degree-granting departments, the most training fields and also the largest-scale recruitment. Therefore, it seems more important to guarantee and improve the training quality of MEng degree. How to really improve the quality and to give advice for future work is the final aim, otherwise, it would not fully exert the function of educational evaluation.Through the survey on MEng students and administrative cadres from 11 universities in the whole country by questionnaire, we could basically know the present situation of MEng education in China. And also we analyzed recent ten-year basic statistics on the development of MEng education, combining the characteristics of life-cycle theory. It shows that the MEng education in China has become entered the mature stage. Based on mentioned above, to improve the training quality of MEng education and make it develop healthily, the following points should be emphasized:⑴Train MEng students with strong theoretical and practical ability for employers;⑵Find methods to improve the graduation rate for MEng students;⑶Realize the final purpose of educational evaluation is to improve the training quality of MEng education;⑷Strengthen responsibility and capability of instructors to guarantee the training quality. This paper aims to discuss the different developmental stages for MEng education and try to put forward some progressive advice accordingly using the life-cycle theory in marketing and investment field for reference, in order to improve the training quality of MEng education in China. However, without large samples, the analyzing results from questionnaires may not fully represent the situation of MEng education in the whole country so that it could not be as the effective basis to identify the stage for MEng education. Therefore it could only provide a new idea for the MEng educational evaluation system and give some advice for future development as well.
