Study On Chinese Higher Education Sustainable Development Theory

As a whole new viewpoint, the conception of sustainable development has become a global focus that draws much close attention. To carry it out now has been a crucial issue in face of many countries worldwide. Chinese government has brought out its blueprint for the development of 2000-2020. This layout, based on previous experience and the fruit of modern civilization, clearly defines the China's insistence of a scientific conception of sustainable development, which should be people-oriented and wholly harmonized, and the important task of building a harmonious society. Sustainable development in higher education, as the embodiment of the conception in higher education field, is an important part in the sustainable development stratagem.This paper explained the concept of sustainable development and the basic situation of China's higher education, using analysis methods to the study of higher education for sustainable development, and analysis of the relationship between sustainable development and the development of higher education and the development of higher education in China's current problems and its essence. The way of realizing sustainable development in higher education is also discussed in this paper. That is by changing the traditional development idea, reforming the social function of higher education, and optimizing higher education ecological environment.
