Aesthetic education is a process in which the teacher, in accordance with the aesthetic consciousness in particular times, with the aid of various aesthetic media, exert aesthetic influence on the receivers, make them feel pleasant and refine their mind. Through such education the students will develop the ability to discover beauty, appreciate beauty and create beauty and as a result will improve their characters.Aesthetic education is a very important task in terms of the task of teaching reading. At the same time, teaching reading and aesthetic education share the same media—the selected articles. It can be concluded that the two are an integrated part because aesthetic education is embodied in the teaching of reading and therefore the former can be actually done through the teaching of reading.This article deals with the aesthetic education in the teaching of Chinese in high school on the basis of aesthetics, education science and psychology and the characters of teaching language as a tool, its humanism and aesthesis. First, the article deals with the history of aesthetic education and the characters of development. Second, it discuss the necessity of aesthetic education—an necessity for human's all-round development, the importance of aesthetic education in teaching Chinese reading to students and to the advocating of humanism. Last, it deals with the practice strategy and evaluation of aesthetic education in teaching Chinese reading, which includes three parts, i.e. digging up the aesthetic factors in Chinese teaching, creating teaching skills of aesthetic education in class, and evaluation of aesthetic education in teaching Chinese reading.While trying to make aesthetic education in teaching Chinese reading feasible and systematic, this article interpret the conception of a text applying the artistic conception of traditional Chinese literature criticism, concept of the Western aesthetics of reception.
