As far as the novelty of the concept, the width of the scope and the intensity of the force are concerned, the new-round reform of fundamental education is unprecedented since the founding of China, and so are in the modern educational history. The common objective of the whole schooling under this circumstance is to successfully cultivate qualified citizens with overall developed personality who is suitable for the future society. But to accomplish this objective, we have to fall back on the optimization of the curricular teaching. Education, as a teacher-student interaction, is destined to pursue high efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to theoretically discuss the problem of the effective teaching strategy and to examine it in practice. The concept of effective teaching derived from the first half of the 20th century. Thereafter, it has become one of the focuses of teaching researches, and frequently appeared in the educational papers and in the vision of the educators. The history of the research on effective teaching shows that effective teaching is a dynamically developing concept, and its connotation has been changing and expanding in accordance with the value of teaching, theoretical foundation of teaching and the expansion of teaching and research. Contrary to overseas research on effective teaching, ours mainly belongs to the introduction of some overseas educational experience or to the research on some basic teaching strategies, and only a few researches combine the subject with its characteristic. So, we here carry out a research on effective strategies for chemistry teaching in high school. This paper is based on the focal concept of study-centered theory. Through the attention to overall development, aiming at advancing the studies, calling on the sense of efficiency, reexamining and renovating of some effective teaching theories, the author designs the following teaching strategies: 1. the strategy to set up definite, measurable and student-centered teaching objectives; 2. the strategy to associate teaching with practice, carry out extracurricular activities, put chemical experiments to full use, adopt enlighten-discuss teaching method to inspire students' interests in learning, design question-answer settings and associate it with social life, give timely feed-back, evaluate students' motive and capture their good learning conditions; 3. the strategy to encourage students to learn by themselves, explore studies to provide them with more opportunities to study; 4. the strategy to pervade the guidance of learning method in the teaching content, design learning settings, carry out trainings of matacognitive, cultivate...
