A Research On The Professional Development Of Primary School Science Teachers

Nowadays the competition of comprehensive national power throughout the world is eventually the competition of scientific technology and talent resources. In fact, it's the competition of science education. With the nationwide carrying out of the New Curriculum Reform, the new standard of science course is also carried out in most of the city and village primary schools. The key to carrying out science course lies in science teachers. Their professional development decides the success or failure of science education, thus this problem must be put emphasis on. To study the project of professional development of primary school science teachers has great effect on the reform and development of primary school science education.Firstly the paper introduces the research situation of teachers'professional development in the form of survey. The second part tells some basic theory on the project, discusses the professional structure of primary school science teachers, and points out the request of New Curriculum Reform to the professional development of primary school science teachers. The third part tells us the current situation and existing problems of primary school science teachers'professional development through analyzing investigation and class observation and interview results. The author finds that we must strengthen the construction of science education teachers contingent, improve professional ability and attitude of science teachers, put emphasis on science teachers'training, reform teaching methods and develop teaching resources of science course, especially we should attach more importance to professional development of primary school science teachers in the countryside.
