With the increasing number of the middle school students from single parent families, how to educate this specific group has come to the top of the agenda. The thesis analyzes the negative effect that the single parent families have on students' education, and, on this basis, focuses on the present situation of these students' education in middle schools. The thesis recognizes that the middle schools have become aware of the problem of how to educate the students from single parent families, have taken certain steps in their education, and have made some achievement. However, the thesis goes on to point out that the middle schools are still weak in the research into these students, in the specific role that the teachers of moral education play, in the partial recognition of the educational function that the single parent families play, and in the guidance and help for the gap in the student group. Finally, the thesis argues it is important and necessary for the middle schools to deepen the research into these students so as to be fully aware of their specific features, to make teachers of moral education play their role better so as to improve the moral education to these students, to improve the communication with and the guidance for the single parent families so as to construct the interactive network between the school and the family, to improve the education on mental health so as to deal with the mental defects in these students, to improve the guidance to the gap in the student group so as to make these students part of the class.
