| According to defense mechanism theory and researches,there is a relationship between the defense mechanism(DM) levels and psychosomatic health levels and the rearing behavior of one's parents.The subjects of the above studies usually were special people,such as juvenile delinquents and soldier, and clinical people.The purpose of this study was to investigate the DM of young people in urban community, undergraduate and professionist, and the relationship between the DM and the rearing behavior of one's parents.A total of 106 young people were asked to complete the Questionnaire.The t-test, ANOVA, and correlation analysis were used to analyze the data and the results were shown as below:1. There were no significant differences in psychosomatic health level among young people in urban community, undergraduate and professionist.2. There were no significant differences in mature DM among young people in urban community, undergraduate and professionist, but were significant differences in immature DM. Young people in urban community are apt to adopt more "passive agression" of DSQ, one kind of immature DM, than undergraduate and professionist do.3. There have relationship between the DM and the rearing behavior of one's parents. Negative rearing behaviors have correlation to immature DM, but positive rearing behaviors rearing behaviors have correlation to mature DM.Implications of the finding and future research suggestion were also discussed in the study.
