Currently, the college entrance examination system has yet to reform, the implementation of the new curriculum is in an important period of transition. On the biological curriculum, the college entrance examination biological questions now compared with previous years, placed more emphasis on the basic concepts and core contents, attached importance to the understanding, summary, migration and application process of basicbiological facts, and in ways of concern innovative skills. In the study, topical review can consolidate their learning achievements; it can also enhance the ability of students in reading and analyzing information, the ability to extract information and expression of information, the ability of integration among subjects. Therefore, the topical review can improve teaching effect. Based on the above analysis, we took the new curriculum ideas as the background and the constructivism theory as the basis, and then carried out teaching design and teaching practice of topical review for the students in grade three of senior school. And then we analyzed the results of teaching design and teaching practice by qualitative and quantitative evaluation.The results showed that:1.Constructivism theory is more adapted to teaching design and teaching practice of topical review for the students in grade three of high school; 2.The topical, review based on constructivism theory can more improve the achievements of students;3.The topical review based on constrnctivism theory can more enhance the interesting and attitude of students;4.The topical review based on constrnctivism theory can more help students to build a complete system of knowledge;5.The topical review based on constructivism theory can more change the learning styles of students;6.The topical review based on constructivism theory can more improve students' solving ability of design and graphics problems, and so on.It also showed that: because of the characteristics of curriculum and review lesson, there are still some issues in teaching: the lack of interaction among teacher and students; biological experiments need to be strengthened and improved; Teachers need to broaden the horizons of the discipline, and strengthen the knowledge of synthetic curriculum.Thus, along with the continuous deepening of the new curriculum, topical review also needs to further optimize upon the guide of constructivism theory. The optimization of topical review need to further study curriculum and examination, implement a double base, build knowledge networks, pay attention to the actual production, strengthen the evaluation of questions, train the solving skills of students, develop the student's language ability and the ability to obtain information and the ability to identify the charts, emphasis on the cultivation of life science quality of students.
