Cooperative learning is one of the most popular essential teaching theories and tactics. It has pioneered the new field of mordem teaching research, developed the theory of mutual activities, brought forth the traditional teaching form of classroom teaching system and raised affectionate function in classroom teaching. It is considered to be one of more effective teaching methods.The article maily deals with the initial exploration and research in theoretical base of cooperative learning, in misunderstanding in view and chief problems in the course of geography cooperative learning in use, in the key problems that must be solved in cooperative learning and in practice and results of geography cooperative learning in middle school. It also deals with the research with evidence about geography cooperative learning in No.2 Middle School attached to Beiying Company. During the couse of the research, I carry on a deep and careful study on geography cooperative in middle school by using the following methods: information-collecting, face-to-face interview, diagrams, comparison and comprehensive analysis.Through the research with edvidence, I think the present geography cooperative in middle school meets the need of the new course reform, highlights the education belief that the basis of education is the development of humans, which is an active challenge to the traditional teaching pattern and further shows the great vitality with its scientific knowledge, effectiveness and manipulate. Carrying out cooperative teaching in middle school plays an active role in improving the teaching atmosphere in geography class and furthering the understanding between the students and the teachers. It is advantageous to strengthening the vitality of geography teaching and promoting the method of learning geography. It is good for fostering students' spirit of social cooperation and abitity of association with each other and arousing students' initiative and enthusiast. It also helps the development of students' subject and healthy psychological growth of their personality and improved the students' ability of settle problems and school marks in geography.In the course of geography cooperative learning, we, geography teachers, should stick to democratic, scientific, open and creative teaching belief; we should also stick to cooperative inspiring heuristic teaching principle; we should apply cooperative learning actively, cleverly and skilfully; we should explore more practical and effective geography teaching pattern, push on geography reform of new course and further the research of the greography cooperative learning.
