Along with the rapid social development, there are consequent changes on modern family structure and child-parent relationship. Children are focus of family and future of society. The whole society pays close attention to their development and education. Comparatively, parents in modern society have to take more stress and work harder. They are urgent to get professional help and guidance to improve the skill of educating. Group guidance, as a new kind of educating and training pattern, is prevailing. The integration of this guidance pattern and consulting theory promotes the development of mental health education. This research takes group guidance for effective parenting to discuss the parents' changes on child-parent communication and rearing attitude, in order to obtain the goal of promoting youth growth in accordance with child-parent relationship improvement.Method: 40 parents, from senior grade of a primary school in one city of Zhejiang province, were investigated with Parent Attitude Scale, and their child answered Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale. Then 20 parents were selected to take part in training group, another 20 parents to contrast group. All subjects received the pretest, the posttest with the Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale and the Parent Attitude Scale and were analyzed. In the last part, interviews of the group members and their family members, the Father's Observation Scale were used as the proof and supplements of the research results, the Group Feed Back Sheets were also analyzed.Conclusions:1. It's feasible and effective to put the group guidance of parental effect into parent education.2. Group guidance for effective parenting can make a positive change on rearing attitude and improve the child-parent relationship.3. Group guidance for effective parenting can promote child-parent communication and improve the family environment, promote children growth.
