Research On The Development Of The Guiding Principle Of Education After Reform And Open Policy

The guiding principle of education which accords with the centralized education management system reflects our State's educational purposes and the general direction, aim, creed, principle of the educational development in different periods. Since the founding of PRC, there are lots of researches focused on this topic. The Party's 3rd Plenary Meeting of the Eleventh Countrywide Representative Meeting in 1978 corrected leftist mistakes and the guidelines of CCP and re-confirmed Marxist's correct policy of our party. The educational guidelines had a correct start, but the process was very slow. Till the year 1985, the guiding principle of education was re-established in "A Resolution of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee about the reform of the educational system", which indicated that the guiding principle of education featuring "Class struggle is the principle" had been replaced by one that served socialist construction. The road of educational development has had twists and turns. The discussion of the new guiding principle of education lasted for about ten years.
