Study On The System Of Vocational Qualification Certificates In UK

Vocational Qualification Certificates are used to evaluate the worker's skills on the job. A good vocational qualification certificate system can improve the quality of the workers.In Octobetr 1986, the National Council for Vocational Qualifications (NCVQ) was built, which performs the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) system for the government. In 1993, NCVQ began to build the General National Vocational Qualifications (GNVQs) system in schools in order to give young students some fundamental vocational education. This system also connects vocational education with general education, and makes the vocational school graduate able to attend colleges and universities. UK is the first country to have this system, thus has already had lots of experiences on it and has had a complete vocational qualification certificate system.Chinese government began to build this system from 1993 and has had some related laws and rules about it. Although in some area, vocational qualification certificates have already made and given to qualified workers, this system in China is immature and has lots of weaknesses. UK is a good example for us.In this paper, the development of the vocational qualification certificate system in UK is studied and suggestions are given to the system in our country. This paper will be helping the development of the vocational qualification certificate system in China.
