It is a common goal for students to develop their scientific literacy throughout the world, as people's scientific literacy directly affect the development of a country in science and technology. Since 2001, it has become a core task in the curriculum reform of basic education in China. From this point of view, we are still far behind compared with the developed countries such as USA, Japan and some other European countries. The level of public scientific literacy of 2003, which was published by China Scientific Institution in 2004, was estimated only 1.98 per cent. It is urgent to improve scientific literacy.The students in Preschool Teachers'School should shoulder the responsibilities of improving the children'sY scientific literacy. As we all know, the reform is active at present, but the education responses slow. The fundamental purpose of this research is to investigate the situation and make suggestions for the reforms. Aiming at the lack of scientific literacy and combining with the practical experience of own's, the author put forward some specifiable tactics in hope of offering several new ideas. We hope it is useful for the stuffs who engaged in teaching.The present thesis, by means of literature analysis, questionnaire and summing-up of experience, is divided into four parts. In part one, it sets forth the meanings of scientific literacy and biological scientific literacy, as well as the operation significance and present situation at home and abroad. In part two, according to the questionnaire, the author analyses the actuality of the students'scientific literacy in Preschool Teachers'School. In part three, comparing with the own practical teaching experience in allusion to the lack of scientific literacy , the author emphasized on discussing the goals, principles and ways with the desire to offer some new thoughts for biological teaching reform.
