Research On The Enrollment Examination Reform Of Postgraduates For Professional Master Degree In China

The establishment of professional degreein the 90s of the 20th century has met the need of economic and social development for diversity,senior professional talents. It has enriched and developed the academic degree in our country. As the entrance of academic degree and graduate education, the examination of postgraduates for professional master degree is getting more and more attentions. By studying the situation of MPA, the thesis analyzes the eatablishment of the examination of postgraduates for professional master degree, main features and some problems existing in the process, and then provides some suggestions for the reform.This thesis divided into four chapters. Chapter one is the historical review. It states the setting background and developing process of professional master degree in China, analyses enrollment examination actuality of professional master degree and summarizes the features and common problems in the examination of postgraduates for professional master degree. Chapter two is international comprasion. With four famous universities with MPA in US, France, South Korea and Singapore for example, it compares and analyzes their enrollment examinations and summarizes their successful experience in MPA enrollment examinations. Chapter three introduces the MPA enrollment examination system in China. With the cases of two famous universities, it analyzes their enrollment examination process, features and problems. Chapter four is the suggestion for the reform. Based on the above research,it analyzes the relevant factors of the examination reform of postgraduates for professional master degree and provides some suggestions from three aspects: registration, first examination and re- examination.The thesis holds that MPA enrollment examination reform in China should be carried out from three aspects. Firstly, the subjects in the examination should be reduced. Some mono-subjects should be insteaded by comprehensive examination. It also can make GCT examination model for reference.The contents can focus on students'ablility for problem analysis and solution, attention to the overall capacity of the test. Secondly, the re-examination should be valued, and further expand university enrollment autonomy. Thirdly, it should improve the protecting system for MPA enrollment examination. It's necessary to provide a good policy environment, to improve the monitoring system and Chinese characteristic MPA education for enrollment examination.
