Curriculum and teaching have always been closely related to each other--they are interlinked and intertwined. On the. one hand curriculum provides teaching with basic concepts, general framework and content elements; and on the other hand, only with the help of teaching can curriculum consummate and realize itself. Therefore teaching is both the fundamental tool to implement curriculum, and the logical extension and complex illustration of curriculum. The new curriculum reform being in progress, adjustment must be done to the traditional classroom teaching. In this process, as teachers are the leading force, so what they think and what they uphold has vital importance to this reform. We are deeply convinced that our beliefs decide on action, so does the same thing in education field. The teaching concepts of teachers are deeply rooted in the culture, which, in return, decides their teaching philosophy. Thus teaching culture is where educational concepts derive from; it is the power and vitality for the existence and development of teaching.Obtrusive shortcomings have been gradually showing up in the traditional classroom teaching culture, unable to adapt to social development and the trend of the times. To improve the implementation of the new curriculum reform, teachers must break with the traditional classroom teaching culture and try to build a new one. Construction of new classroom teaching culture should undergo in accordance with the physical and mental growth of the students, and obey the inbuilt law of education itself, during which teachers have to change their standpoints, which, we believe, is the prerequisite for the reconstruction of teaching culture. Student-centered teaching is the core for the reconstruction of teaching culture, at the same time, considerations for man himself and the idea of student-centered teachings which promotes learning diversity, is the ultimate pursuit for both teachers and education. Evaluation reform is crucial to the reconstruction of teaching culture, if no substantive changes including the college entrance examination can be attained first, all kinds of wonderful ideas to build a new culture of teaching would be only a castle in the air, a mirage, far beyond our reach. Many changes in teaching concepts will eventually have to be implemented in the very act of classroom teaching. To change and reflect classroom teaching behaviors and formulate effective teaching strategies is an indispensable option for the fundamental goal of "creating new citizens" through curriculum reform.
