To foster the students' information attainment as the ultimate course goal instead of computer science has brought in a series of profound reform in the field of the new curriculum philosophy and assessment.In the new information curriculum standard, it is strongly advocated that portfolio assessment method for students should be used. Therefore, it will play a significant role to reach the goal of information technology course if we can set up a systematic portfolio assessment method and carry it out properly according to its fundamental theory. This research paper mainly deals with the disadvantages in the IT course which are that we focus more on the results than the process, more on quantities than real ability from two aspects of research documents and teaching practice. It also deals with the feasibility and matters needing attention of portfolio assessment in the IT practical teaching of Senior High Schools. At the same time, it elaborates on the relevant research on the portfolio assessment and how to implement it in the daily teaching.The research paper puts forward how to design the portfolio based on the pedagogical objectives and how to set up the standards based on the objectives at the different stages so that we can establish the comprehensive and interactive assessment system which contains students, their peers, teachers and parents.Through the summary and reflection on what we have done before, the paper puts forward the future development of the method and how to create the context that will be conducive to the method.
