The Research On Algebraic Expressions Of Secondary Schools And Its Teaching

At the beginning of the new century, many countries have launched mathematics education reform to meet the heat competition of science and teaching, so has China done. We have also written a new style of books based on the standard of revised curriculum. One of the outstanding characteristics of the new textbooks is the way of representing various mathematics contents and lower the requests of the formal study, such as the algebraic expressions.This paper has viewed the algebraic expressions from several angles.It is a milestone in the history of mathematics that the algebra was in use of letters than words to represent the numbers, and the algebraic expressions are an important tool for students in the transition from the thoughts of arithmetic to the algebra's, the contents about the algebraic expressions are also very significant for the secondary schools' students in the teaching and learning of mathematics, so this paper has discussed the development of algebraic expressions; There are several some changes about the algebraic expressions in the revised curriculum, so this paper has discussed these new changes; Then in order to reflect the requests of the revised curriculum about algebraic expressions and different kinds of mathematical textbooks have different ways to represent the contents, so we picked up three different textbooks and analysed the way of representing the algebraic expressions and so on; At last, this paper has discussed the teaching of it and give some suggestions.
