By integrating current multiculturalism trend, this article develops discussion on"Mother Tongue" Music Education which has representative significance. It clarifiesthe definition of "Mother Tongue" culture and "Mother Tongue" Music Educationoriginated from Chinese folk music, analyzes existing problems in current fundamental"Mother Tongue" Music Education, and develops deep discussion by focusing ontheoretic, potential and practical significance of " Mother Tongue " Music Education.Through teaching and theory study, the writer finds that there are several necessities for " Mother Tongue " Music Education. Firstly, establish correct " Mother Tongue " Music culture opinion and relevant music education opinion. Secondly, construct a kind of music teaching model by taking "Mother Tongue" Music culture as the carrier. Thirdly, set up an evaluation system for " Mother Tongue " Music teaching. Fourthly, create an entironment for "Mother Tongue" Music Education. Fifthly, build up a qualified music teacher team.In a word, "Mother Tongue" Music Education is an important tool for broadcasting Chinese folk music.
