With the deepening of the contact with the foreign countries and especially since the beginning of the reform and open policy, the modern times music education in our country has obtained great achievements. For the music educators this is a thing that worth gratified and pleased. But we should notice the insufficiencies, while celebrating the substantial achievements. For example, the aesthetic education can not be efficiently carried out in all the aspects of the music education. These should be paid more attention to, and should be improved urgently.The author has been inspired in the process of studying the music education in America, Germany and Japan, and realized the hiding problems in the elementary music education in China. This dissertation is to put forward these problems and to give the solutions. The concrete contents are as follows:First, the current elementary music education in China still limits students to the "music works", which are mainly traditional music. To conform to the development of music education, we must "guide the students into the culture of music", which requires us to introduce appropriate pop music in class, and make some presentations of the new models of music on media and also the related culture of music.Second, one problem that lies in the current elementary music education is that the students do not like to listen to folk music, let alone singing a lot of them.
