At present the new course reform in our nation puts forward the idea that teaching should be based on the development the students. That is , we should put students in the first place. We can't regard students just as a container which will be filled with knowledge. Students should be treated as a torch which is waiting for lighting. The teaching idea of the problem-solving agrees with the main idea of the standard of the course and it is an effective method to put the standard idea of the course into practice.The problem-solving is a way to study. It requires that students should participate initiatively in the process of teaching. Training problem-solving among students is the primary task of the basic education reform.Problems are the carriers of the problem-solving teaching. We can make students learn knowledge by solving problems, which can encourage students to have an appetite for knowledge and develop the students' problem-solving ability.First of all, this thesis is based on the reference to many documents and some investigations. It states the origin of the problem-solving and its current development during these years in different countries. The problem-solving have made greater progress in the field of mathematics teaching. However, it is slower in chemistry teaching.The second part is documents summarizing, which analyses the function of the problem-solving with the theory of modern psychology and teaching theory. This part also states how to improve and innovate the current teaching by referring to the former achievements.The third part discusses the teaching strategy of the problem-solving. We should come up reasonable problems which should be scientific. Problem should include problem situations, principles and ways. And we should lead students to find and come up with the problem. This part also tells the differences between traditional teaching and the problem-solving in the new course reform and gives a summary about this thesis.Of course, teaching is a complex and various progresses. In the process of specific teaching, we should give appropriate problem according to students' knowledge level and try to make students realize how to train them learning and how to learn in life to make contributions to our country.
