In recent years, with the development of China social economy, it urgently demands higher technical and vocational education to improve the quality and needs its own specialty. So the cultivation and train of the academic-practical teachers become one of key points to higher technical and vocational school. Combining the features and the actuality of higher education and academic-practical teachers, by means of literature, comparative research, and theoretical research, the paper defines the connotation and features of higher education and academic-practical teachers, and the reasonable structure, and analyze, induce and reflects the practices of fostering higher technical and vocational teachers both at home and abroad. Based on the features, situation and research for higher technical and vocational school on how to carry out further cultivation of academic-practical teachers, and propose some constructive suggestions with hope to guide our future work and academic-practical teachers.
