Advanced occupational education, an important component of higher education, undertakes the task of training thousands and millions of practical and technical talents for China's economic development. Thanks to the related educational policies, the scale of higher vocational education has expanded tremendously in recent years, with the number of vocational and technical colleges ever increasing. However, the vacancy of quality teachers, especially a lack of dual-qualified teachers, has become a bottleneck in the growth of higher vocational education. Nowadays, some misconceptions for the term of"Dual-Qualified Teachers"and the inaccurate definition of training mechanism have given rise to a host of problems, such as shortage of training bases for technical courses, ineffective faculty evaluation systems and improper execution of educational policies. Based upon the current situation of Quanzhou Liming Vocational University, the author analyzes the major problems in broadening and deepening the faculty pool, then explores the possible solutions, and finally draws up a series of effective measures. The key point will be establishing incentive mechanism so as to motivate teachers to improve themselves in their professional skills.
