"By other's fault, wise men correct their own." this paper's research subjects is base on America literature, translated by Ma Haolan, and Chinese textbook for junior and senior middle school students, compiled by the group of middle school, Renmin educational press in 2001 and 2003. This thesis has made a comprehensive thorough study of the textbook for the contents and structure. It is organized as follows: Chapter one makes a comparison between the structures of two editions. According to the results indicate that Chinese textbook's building model of compilation style and unit structure can be diversity; Chapter two analyses the feature of aid-readings and selected contents. According to the result suggested that Chinese textbook should strengthen reading guidance and attach importance to build the knowledge system; Chapter three discusses the assignment design. According to the results indicate that Chinese textbook should pay attention to the reasonability in quality, quantity, intensify the extension and practicality. Finally, it should be highly concerned instructiveness.
