Teaching Summing-up is something through which teachers try to realize the unity of scientific and artistic quality. They do it on the base of their own experience according to a certain teaching idea, the object to be thought about is all their teaching activity, the basic tenet is to pursue the rationality of teaching content ,methods and performance, the main purpose is to explore the law of teaching development to improve teachers' go-aheadism. Teaching Summing-up is the teachers' reflection to their teaching plans, lessons preparing, class giving, tutorship, homework checking and teaching performance. It is represented by written material of a certain length embodied by teachers' periodic teaching reception, it is a reference for teachers to improve their teaching level, simultaneously, it is a foundation for leaders and teaching theory researchers to know about teachers, discover teaching questions, explore teaching rules, realize scientific management and theory studying.Though Teaching Summing-up is of great value and effect to teachers' professional development, there is many problems to be worried about in the reality of Teaching Summing-up. This paper sums up the Five Characters of teaching summingup……formulation, formalization, similarity, utility and facility. This situation iscaused by the absence of humanism under the excess systematism (That is the schools having an access eye to the regularization of the Teaching Summing -up management; the intertial thought of school managers; the managernism under the normalization and institutionalization of schools);At he mean time, the emotional of the teachers' teaching study turns down because of the shallow cognition of its value and their heavy teaching burden. So Teaching Summing-up changed into a measure of teaching management in a situation of demand , passivity, misshapen order and behind some frosty numbers, while the characteristic of teachers' teaching reflection disappeared ,too.To improve the validity of Teaching Summing-up and make it an effective way of teachers' professional development, we should pay more attention to the followings: in abstracto , pursuing the original meaning of Teaching Summing-up, enriching the implications of Teaching Summing-up; in management , calling back the last caring for Teaching Summing-up (such as freshening hard management, embodying the humanism;in induction ,carrying on the ideological work of teacher' transformation , reforming the content and format of Teaching Summing-up) .
