The Effect Of Personality,Future Perspective And Peer Attachment On Adolescent Risk-taking Behaviors

The adolescent problem is always an important social problem, no matter what era, country and social system. Nowadays, more and more people focus on this problem. The adolescence is a crucial time for development. For this period of time, the adolescents are influenced by the ill- environment very easily. So they establish their identity confusedly, hold extreme views, and have impulsive emotion and deviant behavior. It influences their development very badly. So we study on adolescent risk-taking behaviors and the influential factors, in order to establish policy and measures to defend and remedy their unhealthy behaviors. Only in this way, can we help the adolescent to understand themselves and the environment .So they can accurately face the life shock, and learn how to deal with it in order to develop themselves better.By reviewing the contemporary studies, theories and concepts of risk-taking behaviors, personality, future perspective and peer attachment, firstly we translate and revise the ARQ, NEO-FFI, ZTPT-F and IPPA-P, secondly we probe into the internal structure of adolescent risk-taking behaviors by using factor analysis, and thirdly we study whether subjects'characteristics could affect adolescent risk-taking behaviors, future perspective and peer attachment by using independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance, lastly we analyze the influence of five-factor personality, future perspective and peer attachment on adolescent risk-taking behaviors by using hierarchical regression analysis and structural equation model. The study reaches conclusions as follows:⑴The ARQ has four dimensions, the rebellious behaviors, the antisocial behaviors, the thrill-seeking behaviors and the reckless behaviors. This questionnaire has satisfactory validity and reliability. ⑵The gender, age, family structure, income and only child or not all have different degree impact on the adolescent risk-taking behaviors. The gender, age and only child or not also have significant impact on future perspective and peer attachment.⑶ARQ, NEO-FFI, ZTPI-F and IPPA-P all correlate each other significantly.⑷By the method of structural equation model, the result is that personality, future perspective, peer attachment are all influential factors to adolescent risk-taking behaviors. Among them, personality is independent variable. Future perspective and peer attachment are mediated variables. Personality influences adolescent risk-taking behaviors by future perspective and alienation.
