Adolescence is a critical period in the formation of personality. The experience of students at this stage of their personality development has a very important role. China's new round of the ongoing reform of the curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop the personality and broad space for development..However, can the teaching of history improve the full harmonious development of free health for students with good character? Can history teacher cultivates most important self-motivation and creativity of students' character quality? How history teaching cultivates students good character? It has become an important topic that workers must face the teaching of history. This is an area where this paper tried to. It help History teachers further understanding knowledge of the development of students personality, promote effective teaching and the students through the history of the formation of good character.The article is divided into five parts. The first part defines personality from philosophy, psychology, education and analyzes the good personality characteristics of high school students, points out the importance of character development;From the six aspects the second part points out excellent condition of the teaching of history in helping students develop good character; Part three describes teaching strategies and teaching mode of developing the student's personality. Only history teachers are initiative to change the educational ideas with a human touch. The teachers can effectively cultivate students good character through the reform of traditional teaching methods,improving the teaching environment and tapping the value of subjects;Part four stresses the principles of training a healthy personality including the differentiation principle, the principle of self-determination, encouraging principle. Finally, the paper stressed that it should become the core of the new century history to promote comprehensive and harmonious development of good character once again.
