Cambridge Phenomenon-Research On British Mutual Participation Between Higher Education And Industry

Cambridge phenomenon, as a successful formulas of mutual participation between higher education and industry, has made great contribution to British economy. In 1970s and 80s when Britain was in economic decline, the economy in Cambridge district increased rapidly completely due to Cambridge phenomenon. Cambridge phenomenon has often been made comparison with Silicon Valley in the U.S. because of its higher reputation in Europe. In order to develop economy and enhance international competitiveness, British government has made a series of policies and measures to encourage mutual participation between higher education and industry. And Cambridge phenomenon happened under the background of mutual participating mechanism between higher education and industry.Chinese mutual participating mechanism between higher education and industry has developed recently. The notion between universities and industries has changed completely, and the mode of mutual participation is still simple. The universities has not excavated its potential of scientific research, and the industry has not cooperated with universities well, which hinders potentially Chinese economic development to a certain extent.This text is divided into four parts.
