With the rapid development of our vocational education, the employment of graduates of secondary vocational school has become a great issue. This issue is related to graduates'personal benefits, to the reform and development of secondary vocational education and it's status and function in market economy, to the exertion of strategies of"develop the country with science and education, strengthen the country by talents", and also the stability of society. Through enforcing the construction of employment instruction system and work team, elevating the duty of employment instruction work, building an efficient working system for helping the employment-challenged graduates, providing employment information service, holding various recommendation activities, we can gradually promote the cultivation and construction of secondary vocational school employment market, and help graduates do better in career orientation, employment , entrepreneurship and higher education.From a practical viewpoint, on the basis of the summarization of the historical development of employment instruction home and abroad and the analysis of the present condition of our secondary vocational employment instruction, the emphasis of this paper is to raise some practical suggestions on enforcing and reforming the second vocational employment instruction. Shortening the gap between the supply power of school's employment instruction and graduates'increasing demands is a matter worth consideration by education policy makers and employment instructors.This paper consists of four parts:The first part aims to expound the significance of this paper, the theme of the research, and in this part,a clear definition to employment instruction has been made.The second part expounds the origin and development of employment instruction home and abroad. With the examples of the USA, the UK and Japan, this part lists the common features of their employment instruction and features we can introduce to China.The third part expounds the present condition of our secondary vocational school employment instruction and the problems, from the angles of school education, social institutions, and family problems.The fourth part expounds the measures to strengthen the employment instruction: making innovations in teaching contents, courses system, and teaching methods, enhancing graduates'abilities in employment and entrepreneurship, providing specialized, informationized services covering all the process, all the students.
