South Korea has a long history and proud culture. It lies in the south part of Korean peninsular. Its surface area is 99,253 thousand kilometers, and has a population of 44,054,087l, with the condition of lacking natural sources. So the importance of human resource has been put in a serious place, from which we could arrive at a conclusion that the achievement South Korea has made is tightly connected with the successfully using human resource. In 20th C70s, South Korea was facing the truth of"dual society", which referring to as the turning period. Then, Korean government raised the"New Village Movement", leading the peasants construct their new village by themselves. Korean government knows that not only during carrying out the"New Village Movement", but also developing rural economy, should put the farmers education into first place, to improve peasants'quality. Strengthening rural education, which accelerating the economy of countryside, refers to combine culture education with vocational education together.In that period, South Korea facing the problems that taking place in our country now. Our two countries both impacted by the Confucian ideology. So we could enlighten the experience from South Korea at the aspect of Korean rural modernization content, methods, etc. The experience will be helpful for us making rural policies, industry structure.Following is the structure of my thesis:In the first part, overall introduction of New Village Movement, including background,process and achievement of New Village Movement. In the second part, introduce rural education, including New Village education,compulsory education and rural education. In the third place, introduce the impaction of rural education to New Village Movement, and analyze the rule the education in speeding up the economy. In the last part, enlightenment of Korean rural education reform to our country.
