After we entering the 21st century, scientific technologies around the world are taking their new reformations; as representatives of the modern science, information science and life science have been made their important progress, and urging on the development of the productivity of the world. For the foundational education, especially for the biological education in middle schools, it is facing a rare chance for development. It is also facing a severe challenge as well, that is requiring a higher level of standard to cultivate the new generation of the socialist society. It not only requires that the students should grasp the natural science and the essential knowledge, but also requires the students should be provided with fine moral character.Therefore in nowadays, we are changing our school educating aim from the knowledge educating to the ability educating, in order to meet the needs of the developing society, i.e. The abilities of the students should be further improved to meet the needs in their lifetime. The education department of our country has also discovered the same phenomenon, so it advocates that exploratory method should be added in biology teaching progress. It is to provide more chances to the students in self-learning on the basis of traditional knowledge teaching and to consummate the knowledge by their experiences. On one hand, knowledge is gained in this way; on the other hand, the exploratory ability has been practiced.According to pedagogy, psychology, the exploratory teaching theory, the teaching experiences of myself and the experiences of the other teachers and learners, the relationship between the implementing of exploratory experimental biology teaching in middle schools and the development of the students exploratory ability will be discussed in this thesis. Several typical experiments in the teaching material have been chosen and several exploratory teaching methods have been chosen in the teaching process. The advantages and disadvantages both have been figured out in order to illustrate the function of the exploratory experimental teaching process. It is aimed to find out a method to raise the interests of the middle school students to learn biology in an active; exploratory way, and train their abilities which are useful in their whole life.I hope and it will be my great honor that this thesis can be used for reference to the experimental teaching for biology teachers.
