The teaching method of exploratory reading, not only conforms to the trend of the new curriculum reform, but also meets the essential characteristic of reading instruction. And it is a bright spot of the new teaching ideas and learning styles promoted by the new teaching curriculum. This teaching method reflects the philosophy and spirit of modern theory and modern education. It is a kind of emotional communication, spiritual connection and heart dialogue between students and reading materials, which is to seek understanding and self-understanding and to build self-exploration. It emphasizes the students'autonomy and creativity during the reading, paying attention to the experience and exploration from reading and regarding the reading as a process of exploring.Currently, in Chinese class, teachers have already begun the practice of exploratory reading. But there is still an inadequate understanding for it. For example, the teaching concept and model are so old that teachers can't grasp the nature of exploratory teaching. Because this kind of teaching is blind, it is difficult to receive the desired effect. Therefore, in order to guide the practice of this teaching, building a theory structure and studying the practice deeply is a top priority.This article mainly talks about the teaching method of exploratory reading in Chinese class, combining research and document. This essay is divided into five parts. The first part states the background and significance. The second part discusses the meaning, the theoretical basis and conditions for construction. The third part classifies different styles of exploratory reading. The fourth part tells the basic processes and guidance for each process. At the same time, it analyses some problems in practical teaching using some teaching examples. In the fifth part, the author puts forward some his own views:First, exploratory teaching method should pay particular attention to the classroom. Second, there are no set models in the teaching method. Third, teachers should catch the teaching time accurately. Finally, teachers should carry an awareness of efficiency.
