With the implementation of the new curriculum reform in our country, instructional system design has begun to shift the focus to the instructional design with learner-centered and the design of study model with learner-centered. What this thesis to main study be is how change the traditional and rigid instructional model in foundation and achieve the goal that optimizing the instruction and raising the learners'learning efficiency by means of combining advanced learning theory that the engagement theory and the four elements in instruction to promote the learners'self-regulated learning. To achieve the goal, we must solve two problems. The one is that whether the engagement theory can have a role in promoting the learners'self-regulated learning. The other is how to construct the model of instructional design about basing on the engagement theory to promoting the learners'self-regulated learning if the engagement theory can have a role in promoting the learners'self-regulated learning. The author collected a large of literature on the engagement theory, the self-regulated learning theory and the instructional design theory at home and abroad. Then the author had analyzed in depth the engagement theory, the self-regulated learning theory and the general model of instructional design, solved the research problems and obtained the conclusion and the certain research results. The main conclusions and results in this thesis include:⑴The engagement theory indeed can promote the learners'self-regulated learning;⑵It was discovered that the factors and the function mechanism about the engagement theory promoting the learners'self-regulated learning;⑶It was put forward that the five principles of instructional design about applying the engagement theory to promote the learners'self-regulated learning at first time;⑷It was constructed that the process model of instructional design about applying the engagement theory to promote the learners'self-regulated learning;⑸It was produced that the instructional design plan on an information technology lesson—"the processing about forms in Microsoft Word"—on grade one in high school by designing according to this model. The study methods in this thesis are mainly literature methodology, action research and etc.
