Economic globalization, political pluralism and a speedy development of information technology has become a sign of 21st century. Internationalization of higher education is bound to be an unstoppable trend. In the USA, Europe, and Australia, the internationalization in the colleges and universities have gradually become a central element from margin to education management, planning and curriculums. Even in China, internationalization of higher education has turned out an important factor of government policies and the universities direction in future development. Internationalization of higher education is not only the objective requirements of social and economic development, but also an inherent requirement of the development and reforming of higher education.For the development of regional economic integration among the countries and regions, this promotes the cultural and educational exchanges. Internationalization of higher education is an important component of regional economical integration, which improves the quality of the intellectual training and supporting for economic development.Since the year of 2004, the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and ASEAN Exposition permanently located in Nanning has pushed Guangxi upgrade Guangxi-ASEAN economical integration onto the international stage. The development of internationalization of Guangxi higher education thus brings us a unique opportunity. In the context of China-ASEAN, by analyzing the present state of international cooperation and exchanges of higher education between Guangxi and ASEAN, and then identify the existing problems and countermeasures.The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is to describe the aim and the theoretical meaning and realistic value of the topic, the present status at home and abroad, the concepts definition of the study.The second part is the macro inspection of internationalization of higher education. By analyzing the causes, contents and features of international higher education, to discusses and summaries the development status and experience of internationalization of higher education of Europe, the United States, Beijing and Shanghai of China and the ASEAN countries. The third part is the survey of internationalization of higher education in Guangxi, based on the background of China-ASEAN. Firstly, the author shows the opinions on the necessity and feasibility of internationalization of higher education in Guangxi. Secondly, to investigated the internationalization history and international cooperation and exchanges in colleges and university. Thirdly, try to find out the existing problems by the following dimensions: international concepts, the internationalization of teachers, the internationalization of students, and the internationalization of curriculum, cooperation education and international academy cooperation.The fourth part is the countermeasures and construction of the internationalization of higher education in Guangxi, based on the background of China-ASEAN. The cooperation focuses on the ASEAN countries, face the world and strengthen the construction of colleges and universities, highlight the nation's outstanding culture, promote Guangxi to be the educational, economical and human resources center of China - ASEAN.
