Since China-ASEAN Free Trade Area has been established, China and ASEAN countries’ cooperation in economic and cultural areas become increasingly frequent,and cross-border higher education between China and ASEAN has become a more significant way of promoting the common economic development and prosperity of culture. With the promotion of higher education to regional economy is recognized in the global scope, the society pay more and more attention to the use of cross-border higher education to enhance their quality of higher education and promote the development of regional economy. However,in what kind of mode to facilitate the interaction relation between cross-border education and regional economic development, has become an educational problem.Adjacent to the ASEAN countries, Guangxi Beibu Gulf area has always maintained close relations of good neighborliness with the ASEAN countries. As the forward position of China-ASEAN exchange and cooperation, Guangxi Beibu Gulf area has established its economic zone, universities and economic industrial parks in Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone have carried out in-depth cooperation with ASEAN countries. Therefore, to study and construct China ASEAN cross-border education and regional economic interaction mode in the Guangxi Beibu Gulf area will have important significance.Firstly, this research summarizes the related research, describes Guangxi and ASEAN cross-border higher education and regional economic interaction environment objectively, and clears the related concepts. Secondly,it explores three economic theories of the endogenous growth theory, the comparative advantage theory and the unbalanced development theory, which are used to prove the influence of cross-border education to the development of regional economy, and also the development of regional economy with the hierarchical diffusion effect. After that, the research focuses on the existing higher education and regional economic interactive mode around the globe, and takes the EU regional cross-border higher education and regional economic interactive mode. For example, it provides a reference for the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and ASEAN cross-border education and regional economic interactive mode. Afterwards based on the results of empirical study in the colleges and industrial parks in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, the author obtains the current situation of the development of cross-border education and economic cooperation between the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone of Guangxi and ASEAN by analyzing. According to the existing conditions and policy of the regional support, the author constructs the interactive mode of Beibu Gulf Economic Zone of Guangxi and ASEAN cross-border education and regional economy. Finally, according to the current situation of the interactive mode’s development, the author presents his consideration, and provides his suggestions and countermeasures for the future development.
